On 10 April 2025, a thought-provoking hybrid book launch was held at the South End Museum in Gqeberha to launch Predicaments of Knowledge: Decolonisation and Deracialisation in Universities (2024) by Suren Pillay. This launch sparked critical conversations on the future of knowledge in post-apartheid South Africa, from the tensions between Africanisation, decolonisation, and deracialisation, to the politics of curriculum and language.
